This is the incredible moment a young man miraculously escapes unharmed after a car crashes onto the pavement and hits the sofa he was napping on in front of a dental practice.
The incident took place on Martyr Gendarmerie Private Mustafa Goksal Street in the Dadaloglu neighbourhood of the Yuregir district in Adana province, Turkey, at 4:38 pm on 27th October.
The young man, identified as baker Cengiz Adli, 24, was reportedly unwell and decided to rest on the sofa outside a dentist’s office and a carpenter’s workshop.
The car can be seen suddenly mounting the pavement and hitting the end of the sofa at speeding, narrowly missing Cengiz’s head.
The man can be seen waking up with a start as he lightly bumps his head on the front of the car.
Miraculously, Cengiz emerged from the incident unscathed and immediately checked himself, while bystanders rushed to his aid to check him.
And remarkably, the reckless driver, who had shattered his car’s bumper in the accident, seemed completely unfazed as he got out to inspect the damage to his car before getting back in to reverse it back onto the road without a glance to check if Cengiz was okay.
The driver fled the scene, according to local media.
Cengiz has filed a report with the police, who are currently investigating the incident, with the entire episode captured on a security camera.
Recalling the experience, Cengiz said: “I was feeling a bit unwell that day. I dozed off on the nearby shop’s pavement couch to take a short rest.
“All of a sudden, a car hit. Thankfully, I wasn’t harmed; I narrowly escaped.
“Right after I got up, I naturally went into shock.”
“Since I was asleep, I didn’t see the car coming, but when I watched the footage of the incident later, I was truly astonished.
“God looked after me. He spared me for my child. Death narrowly missed me. The couch was damaged due to the accident, and the shop’s window was also broken.”
