A Turkish court has sentenced a struck-off doctor to six years behind bars after one of his patients died an agonising death after a botched bum job.
The 13th Criminal Court of First Instance in Buyukcekmece, Istanbul, found defendant Oner Ozsoyeri guilty of causing death through negligence.
The court heard how the struck-off GP gave victim Kubra Boyraz filler injections in her rear at his beauty clinic in Beylikduzu on 19th September 2020.
He performed the procedure on the 38-year-old despite lacking the necessary certification and training to do so.

As she staggers through the clinic’s reception, two members of staff hold onto her arms and three more walk behind her.
More footage from a camera outside the clinic shows Kubra being bundled into the back of a car before she is driven home.
When she arrived, she was “struggling to speak” and “unwell”, the court heard.
Kubra was rushed to hospital after her condition worsened, and she passed away on 20th September.
An autopsy revealed that she died after the filler injections in her bum blocked her blood vessels.
Ahead of the verdict, Ozsoyeri claimed to the court: “I am not the one who committed the act. Witnesses also testified that I was not present in the room.
“My medical licence was revoked six months before the incident, not due to professional reasons but for other reasons.
“I was not present at the location in my capacity as a doctor. The deceased person was a patient of Erdal Bey. I am innocent and I request acquittal.
“I wasn’t even in the room. I did not perform the procedure. As a person, I tried to do everything for the individual. I directed her to the hospital, but she refused.”
During his trial, the court heard how Ozsoyeri had been reported for injuring several cosmetic surgery patients by injecting them with inappropriate substances in 2009.
The case is ongoing, with co-suspects Erdal Dogruya, Omer Elmali, and Bulent B. accused of violation of the Basic Law on Health Services.
The first co-suspect is also accused of causing death through conscious negligence and treating patients without being a doctor.
