This is the terrifying moment a fairground ride snaps off in mid-air sending screaming children crashing to the ground.
The horror crash – at Green Plaza Mall in Alexandria, Egypt, on Friday, 26th May – left several kids seriously injured, according to local media.
In nightmare footage, the pendulum-style ride can be seen swinging on a frame with seats packed with fun-seekers set back-to-back in a circle.
But as the ride continues, it begins to sway sideways and slips forward before the passenger section breaks off from the swinging arm.
As riders and spectators scream in terror, the passenger compartment smashes into railings and the ride’s operating cabin.
Then as it comes to halt, the crowd rushes forward to free their loved ones from the wreckage.
Some are seen toppling the control cabin to free riders apparently crushed up against it.
Police and firefighters sealed off the area to allow teams of paramedics to take the injured to hospital.
Six people, some of them children, were reported to be seriously injured.
The manager of the ride, who has not been named, was reportedly arrested and experts are studying the wreckage.
The investigation is ongoing.
