An Irish woman has died after undergoing plastic surgery to her cheeks and arms in Istanbul.

The woman, named as Annetta Barbara Rohder, 62, reportedly died following the cosmetic operations in Istanbul, Turkey, to have her cheeks and arms tightened.

She was staying at a hotel in the Bagcilar area of Turkey’s largest city and the operations were reportedly carried out at a private hospital in the Sultangazi district on 2nd October, with reports of her death now surfacing in Turkish media after she suddenly fell ill six days later.

The doctor who performed the ops has been named only as M.K.

Rohder reportedly went back to M.K. and was then taken by ambulance to a private hospital near where she was staying.

Her heart reportedly stopped in the ambulance but medics were able to revive her.

She was then treated at the hospital but later died.

Her body has been taken to the local forensic medicine institute for analysis in a bid to establish a cause of death.

The authorities are investigating M.K. and the private hospital where the operations took place, according to reports.

Both the doctor and the hospital declined to comment to local media.

The investigation is ongoing.
