A dad was killed and his son was put in hospital when their quad bike slammed into a pillar in an underpass.
The horror accident was caught on CCTV in the Osmangazi district of Bursa, Turkey, on 27th May.
The shocking footage shows how both dad and son were thrown from the all-terrain vehicle in the fast, head-on collision.
They can both be seen hitting the concrete pillar before falling to the ground in a heap.
Immediately after the incident, bystanders called the emergency services.
Paramedics quickly arrived on the scene and gave the injured pair first aid before taking them to nearby hospitals.
Dad Onder Oral – a businessman in the real estate and construction sectors – was taken to Yuksek Ihtisas Training and Research Hospital.
Despite doctors’ best efforts, the 49-year-old died from his injuries – which were not described in reports – in the facility.
Onder’s son was taken to Cekirge State Hospital for treatment.
The injuries he sustained and his current condition are unclear. Local media are withholding his identity.
Onder leaves behind a wife, Arzu Oral, who wrote on social media on 27th May: “My dear life partner Onder Oral has lost his life in a traffic accident.
“His funeral will take place on Sunday, 28th May, after the noon prayer, and will be held at the Ovaakca Central Mosque.”
According to reports, the dad had bought the quad bike just hours before the accident, which is now under investigation by the police.
It is preliminarily believed that the accident happened because Onder lost control of the vehicle.
