Cruel Rifat Yilmaz is said to have left his wife Dudu Yilmaz’s body in the hotel in Urla, Izmir province on 16th June.

Meanwhile, he used her phone to send her parents a series of text messages to make them believe she was still alive, reported local media.

The couple had originally parted after a series of bust-ups over money and Dudu and started a new life alone as kebab shop waitress.

But, reported local media, she had agreed to meet him at a hotel when he told her he had changed and wanted to try again.

Hotel staff became suspicious when they had not seen the couple for three days, and called the police.

Inside the room, they found Dudu dead with a cable around her neck.

The Izmir Provincial Security Directorate, Department of Public Order seized Rifat.

In an emotional revelation, Dudu’s mother, Fatma Onal, opened up about the ongoing violence that her daughter had endured.

She said: “Dudu found employment at a kebab restaurant. It was there that their paths crossed.

” After a year and a half, Rifat came to meet us and shared with us the unfortunate story of how his parents had succumbed to cancer, leaving him alone in the world.

“Love seemed to be blossoming between them, and with that assurance, we gave them our blessing to marry.

“Little did we know, it was a prelude to a devastating tragedy. Throughout their brief four-month marriage, he subjected my daughter to ill-treatment.

“It was only later that we uncovered the fact that he had taken a loan, which Dudu had repaid.

“The shock deepened when we found out about the abuse she had suffered. If only we had been aware of her circumstances earlier, we could have cautioned her to steer clear. Regrettably, she only opened up to us about it later.”

Dudu’s mother added; “Dudu left in the day, saying she was going for a seaside stroll with her husband and would be back by evening.

“We had a phone conversation later in the day where she reassured me of her return and mentioned not seeing Rifat again. But as the night crept in, Dudu was nowhere to be found.”

Dudu’s mother added: “He later confessed his crime to a friend, who then informed Dudu’s employer. That’s how we were brought into the grim truth of what had happened.”

Police investigations continue.
