A blonde teenager who claims real men looking for a partner to settle down with do not use dating apps has taken to walking down streets with a sign saying that she wants to find a husband.
The 19-year-old Belarusian girl, Polina Litvinova, can be seen in the footage walking on Istiklal Avenue in Turkey’s largest city Istanbul, with a sign in her hand that reads: “I’m looking for a husband.”
Beneath the message, she even wrote down her social media username. She later explained that she did not like dating apps, which is why she said she chose to carry out the bizarre stunt.
While some passersby could not hide their surprise, others engaged with her, taking photos together and showing them online.
Polina, who shared the moments in a video on her Instagram account, received mixed reactions from her followers. Defending her actions, she said: “Many people ask me why I did this. I already attract a lot of attention, but this is not a joke or a stunt. I am genuinely looking for a good man who will take care of me and ensure my safety.”
She added: “Finding a man these days who doesn’t view you as a sexual object is very difficult. If this method of finding a husband is wrong, then I don’t know how else to do it. Should I find someone from dating apps where people only want to use you? Because a man worth marrying doesn’t use such apps. At least he wouldn’t waste time on such things. So, I chose this path.”
However, some netizens expressed scepticism about Polina’s intentions. One netizen commented: “No, you’re not looking for a husband; you’re looking for Instagram followers.”
Another said: “She must have gained 10K followers, her DMs must be overflowing by now.”
