This is the heart-stopping moment a paraglider’s passenger clings on for dear life after apparently slipping through their harness as they soar off a cliff.
The incident took place at the 5th International Kapikaya Nature Sports Festival, in the Bafra district of Samsun province on Turkey’s Black Sea coast, in the north-central part of the country.
The footage shows the paraglider taking off from a hillside with a picturesque view, along with a passenger, with them then slipping down immediately after takeoff.
The passenger can be seen apparently clinging on for dear life as they leave the hillside behind, with the drop to the ground becoming more dangerous with every second.
People can be heard panicking as the paraglider carefully swings back around before apparently coming in to land.
The footage then shows the emergency services and event organisers attending to the pair after they landed safely.
Turkish media reported that the passenger, who has not been named, suffered minor abrasions but was otherwise unharmed in the terrifying incident.
