This is the horrifying moment a cow plunges to its death from the fourth floor of a housing complex in Egypt.

Video footage shows how the massive black-and-white heifer – whose hooves appear to be bound – leans over a balcony railing as several chuckling and jeering passersby watch on.
The animal can then be seen falling head-first to the ground. It ends up on its back motionless. It was later confirmed that the animal reportedly died on the spot as it landed on its head.
Some men then approach the cow as the call of the muezzin can be heard in the background.
Footage of the incident – which reportedly took place in the city of Damanhur, Beheira Governorate, northern Egypt – emerged on social media on 28th June.
The background of the incident – why the cow was kept there and why it tried to escape – is unclear, but it is not uncommon for animals to be kept alive so they can be properly killed.
In Islamic countries, animals have to be slaughtered in an appropriate ritual manner which means that it needs to be alive and healthy and killed by cutting the major blood vessels.
The jeers and laughter of the witnesses on the street at the scared animal leaping to its death have been criticised by local media.
