Turkish police have arrested a woman after she felled her husband in a hail of bullets in the middle of the street amid a blazing row about money.
Suspect Yeliz Oltu and victim Ahmet Comert were having a furious argument on Aziz Yildirim Boulevard in Duzce in the early hours of 27th June.
As the row escalated, Oltu, 35, drew a gun from her handbag and shot 40-year-old Ahmet multiple times around 3am, according to reports.
After local residents heard the gunshots ringing out, they called the emergency services.
Police officers arrived on the scene and arrested Oltu, while paramedics dispatched to the street took Ahmet to hospital.
Despite medics’ best efforts, he ended up dying from his wounds.
Oltu and Ahmet were married under Islamic law and lived together, according to local media.
But detectives investigating the killing quickly found out that Ahmet was married under civil law to another woman, with whom he had three children.
Despite this, they do not believe this was the trigger for the killing, instead believing that a blazing row broke out between the couple about money.
The police investigation into the incident is ongoing, and it is not clear if Oltu remained in custody at the time of writing.
