This is the moment a greedy food delivery biker tucks into a customer’s meal from the courier box on the back of his motorcycle.
Secretly filmed video footage shows how the biker – on duty for Talabat, the Arab equivalent of Just Eat – helps himself as he parks near an alley.
After demolishing a handful of what look like chicken nuggets dipped in sauce, he wipes the grease off his hands on his shirt.
Then – after resealing the food container lids – he washes his free lunch down with a few swigs from two milkshakes before the footage runs out.
Talabat promised to investigate the footage after howls of protest on social media from disgusted customers.
The firm – which operates all over the Middle East – says it has established that the video was shot in Bahrain.
A spokesperson told local media: “We recently became aware of a video showing a rider poorly handling an order, which is against our health and safety policies.”
They added: “Even though this has been confirmed as a cancelled order, the rider has been immediately suspended pending further investigation.”
The Talabat spokesperson went on: “We take such behaviour very seriously. We have sent a reminder to all logistics partners and riders to abide by our health and safety guidelines.”
Local media reports that the unnamed delivery biker in the video – which emerged on 28th July – has been suspended.
Many netizens were infuriated by the footage.
One – ‘Cjfyh66’ – asked Talabat: “Considering the viral clip, I have to ask you what is safe if a worker drinks and touches food, how can you ensure hygiene?”
And ‘Tahafreihat’ warned: “He will go to hell.”
However, some social media users also expressed sympathy for the suspended staffer.
‘Saadfarooqi6154’ argued: “What if this is his own food? Maybe he just kept his own food inside his bag to keep it warm. Why are we so quick in judging others?”
And ‘Mengal_mishaa’ commented: “Shame on Talabat! I feel really bad for that poor innocent delivery boy.”
