Paramedics twice had to bring critically injured Davi Pereira back from the brink of death following the head-on crash in Konyaaltı, Antalya Province, Turkey.

The youngster’s heart stopped twice on the way to hospital and had to be restarted.

His father Edinaldo Gomes Pereira, 35, known as Naldo, was not involved in the crash.

The smash happened when Naldo’s father-in-law and Davi’s grandfather Walter Tilatti, who was driving, collided with another vehicle head-on.

Italian-born Tilatti’s car then careered off into the path of a motorcycle in the 7th September smash, say police.

Investigators have not named the second driver but identified the biker as Cuneyt Eslik.

Pictures of the crash site show a badly damaged red car and a motorbike lying on its side in the road.

Medics at Akdeniz University Hospital have told Naldo that his in-laws are in a stable condition but his son is still critical following emergency surgery.

Defender Naldo once played for Italy’s Serie A’s side Bologna F.C,. but now plays for Turkish club Antalyaspor.
